The Ministry Program is formed on our seven foundations that come from both our Teresian and Marist charisms. Each one is a window into a deeper understanding of what it means to know and love Jesus. The Ministry program is interwoven into the Religious Education program at St Teresa's, creating a rich environment for students to learn about Catholic religiosity and Teresian and Marist spirituality in a contemporary and contextualised program.
Our dual charism shows Mary as a woman with a deeply loving heart able to say yes to God's dream, but also with a strong mind able to unite people and bring Christ's dream to the world. By walking in the footsteps of St Teresa and St Marcellin our Ministry program strives to bring our students to a deep understanding that they are all children of God.
Our dual charism asks our students to be like Mary and dare the dream that God has in store for them. Daring this dream in today's world is not easy, so like Mary they will need to combine a loving heart and a strong mind knowing that they are loved eternally, that they have infinite potential, and that they are part of the holy family.
All learning within the Catholic secondary school can contribute to the religious development of the students. Central to the religious life of the school, however, will be the provision of Religious Education in the classroom. Religious Education is recognised as a key learning area within the school curriculum. Appropriate allocation of time, resources and qualified staff acknowledges the value of religion as an educational activity.
Religious Education within St Teresa's has Jesus Christ at its heart and provides the students with a solid grounding in the Catholic Christian faith, its history and its practice. It gives special attention to the understanding and appreciation of spirituality, social justice, environmental issues and ecumenism.
